How to get to Wembley Stadium

Whether you need to get to Wembley Stadium for a big game, or a big gig, it couldn’t be easier to get there. There are three options if you’re looking for a Wembley Stadium train station. It’s just two stops from Baker Street on the London Underground Metropolitan Line, and it’s also served by Wembley Park Underground which you can transfer onto from London Euston

Alternatively, Wembley Stadium Station is served by Chiltern Railways, and Wembley Central Station is on both the Bakerloo Underground line and London Overground line. If you take the overground train from London Euston to Wembley Central, you can expect the journey to take less than 20 minutes.

You can drive to Wembley (although parking must be booked in advance), or you can take a coach, but with three train stations close to the stadium, travelling by train is the easiest way to get there. Each station is just a few minutes walk from Wembley Stadium, so you can plan your journey to any of the nearest stations to Wembley Stadium.

What to do at Wembley Stadium

The home of English football, Wembley Stadium plays host to the English football team’s home games and the FA Cup final. Additionally, Wembley also hosts other major football games and music concerts. Some of the biggest names in the music industry have played here, including Madonna, Take That and Taylor Swift.

Wembley Stadium is the largest stadium in the UK with over 90,000 seats, and the second largest in Europe behind Camp Nou, home of FC Barcelona. The stadium opened in 2007 on the site of the original Wembley Stadium, which was demolished in 2003, and it’s located in the north-west of London, roughly 8 miles from London Euston station, making it easy to get the train to Wembley Station from all over the city or further afield when you travel with Avanti West Coast.

Concerts at Wembley Stadium

Wembley Stadium is one of the most iconic stadiums in the UK, and perhaps the world. But it’s not just famed for sporting events; several huge gigs have taken place here with artists from all across the globe lining up to play here. Some of the biggest names in the music industry to have played concerts at Wembley Stadium include Ed Sheeran, Madonna, Coldplay, the Who, Adele and Beyonce.

While these famous artists are superstars in their own right, the most iconic gig at Wembley Stadium was Live Aid in 1985, with huge performers including Queen, Elton John, David Bowie and Status Quo all on the line-up.

For upcoming and future concerts, travel to and from Wembley has become much easier over time with advances in rail travel and convenient connections now available. The quickest route for getting to concerts at Wembley Stadium is to travel to Wembley Park Station at the venue, but there are also two other stations nearby if this line is particularly busy.
