Spooky season is upon us and it’s time for ghosts, ghouls and goodies galore. If you want to experience all the Halloween events that Tamworth offers, you’re in the right place!

It's easy to get to by train, and once you're in the town, it couldn't be simpler to navigate by bus.

Family Halloween activities and events in Tamworth
Whatever your budget, there are plenty of Halloween-themed activities going on that everyone can get involved with. When it comes to Halloween in Tamworth, there are no tricks - only treats!
Pumpkin Paddock at Tamworth
It’s not Halloween if there aren’t any pumpkins! Luckily, there will be pumpkins galore at the Pumpkin Paddock, along with lots of wholesome fun for the whole family.
Every child ticket (£7) includes pumpkin picking. Your child can choose their favourite pumpkin from the paddock, before carving it and taking it home! What ghoulish designs will they create? If your little one doesn’t want to take home a pumpkin, you should purchase an adult ticket instead (£1.50).
As well as pumpkin picking and carving, there will also be plenty of games to keep everyone entertained. It’s the perfect way to while away a few spooktacular hours! The paddock is open on the weekends of October 8th/9th and 15th/16th, then during the October half-term holidays, it's open every day from October 17th - 30th. It’s also open on Halloween, but pre-booking isn’t available. If you want to carve your pumpkin on Halloween itself, you should show up and purchase a ticket on the day.
You'll find the Pumpkin Paddock at Planters Garden Centre, which can be reached on bus service 8. The journey from Tamworth town centre takes around 40 minutes by bus.
Spooktacular Halloween Trails - Middleton Hall & Gardens
Middleton Hall is a Grade II listed building set in 42 acres of beautiful countryside and located just five miles from Tamworth train station. There's no bus service to Middleton Hall, but it's easy to get there from the station via taxi.
The hall and its gardens date back over 950 years, making the manor house, Georgian Walled Gardens and grounds a great trip for the whole family, at any time of year. But if you visit this October, you’ll be in for an extra special, spooky treat: the Spooktacular Halloween Trails!
The trails take you through both the grounds and the hall, so you can explore everything Middleton has to offer. Who knows what creatures you might encounter along the way?
Don’t worry though, there isn’t anything gruesome to be found on the trail, making it suitable for all ages. There are clues along the way, which your little ones might need a helping hand to solve, but we’re sure they’ll love claiming their prize at the end!
Under fives go free, tickets for older children are £2 each, and adult tickets are £7. The trail is open over the half-term break, from October 26th - 30th inclusive.
Halloween family disco
For an evening of family-friendly fun, head along to this disco in Polesworth Memorial Hall, which can be reached from Tamworth town centre on bus service 65. Suitable for all ages, it’s sure to be a fun-filled evening of games, music and prizes!
Costumes are optional but if your little one wants to dress up as a hair-raising ghost, cute cat or a member of the Minions, it’s actively encouraged!

Bert & Gert’s Tamworth Craft Market
If you prefer your Halloween attractions a little less haunted, why not take a trip to Bert & Gert’s Craft Market? Held in Ankerside Shopping Centre on Saturday, October 22nd, you’ll discover some of the best small local businesses - and maybe even enjoy some spooky treats along the way!
Whether you’re looking for new clothes, handmade crafts, or cute trinkets, you’re sure to find a fabulous selection at the market, all from independent businesses at this Tamworth Halloween shopping extravaganza. Browse the stalls from 10am to 5pm on the 22nd - and then maybe ramp up the scare factor with an evening of Halloween-themed fun!
Ankerside Shopping Centre is easy to get to and is served by buses 4, 5, 7, 8, 15, 20 and 76.
Ale Hallows Fest
For eerily good ales and spine-tingling live music, why not book tickets for the Ale Hallows Fest, run by Tamworth Brewing Co? The festival will be held at the Tamworth Tap in the town’s very own microbrewery on Market Street and will run over four days from the 27th - the 30th of October. The taproom can be reached in 10 minutes on foot from Tamworth train station, and it's also served by bus 65.
As well as customer-favourite ales, there will be a spooktacular selection of guest ales for you to sample. The beer list and live bands have yet to be announced, so keep your eyes peeled for more information - but one thing’s for sure, the fest is sure to be frightfully fun!
Halloween Ghost Hunt At Tamworth Castle
Tamworth Castle’s Halloween event is well worth the wait for avid ghost hunters.
The castle is one of Tamworth’s top attractions, and on November 19, you’ll be able to see it in an entirely different light on a ghost walk. You’ll be guided around the medieval castles, with vigils conducted in the most haunted rooms.
And, even if you don’t spot anything spine-chilling on the night, you can watch your footage back later to see if there’s an aura you missed in person.
This event is strictly for over 18s, and tickets cost £35 per person. Doors open at 19:30 for an 20:00 start, and the ghost tour will last until midnight. It’s recommended that you wrap up warm as it can get cold in the castle - or is that chill just the ghostly presence you can feel?
