How to get to the Chelsea Flower Show

The Chelsea Flower Show’s location is on the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea, London and it has been held here every year since 1913. There are a few different ways to arrive at the show.

Travelling by rail is one of the simplest; catching the train to Chelsea Flower Show is a foolproof way to arrive. Though Avanti’s nearest train station is London Euston, London Victoria is closest to the event’s location. You can hop on a connecting service between the two London stations with ease.

Visitors travelling by tube will need to get to Sloane Square tube station. This stop is a quick 10-minute walk from the showground. You can reach it using the District or Circle Lines.

If you opt for the bus, look out for bus numbers 11, 137, 211, 360, 170, 44 and 452 which stop closest to the showground. Numbers 19, 22, 319, and C1 also stop at Sloane Square, so will bring you near to the event.

Driving is another option, though the area may be busy around showtime. To arrive by car, follow the postcode SW11 4BY and park at Battersea Park, a 20-minute walk from the grounds. Parking tickets must be pre-booked with your show tickets.

About Chelsea Flower Show

The Chelsea Flower Show started life as the RHS Great Spring Show, which held its first event in Kensington in 1862. Since then, it’s grown from a single tent of around 250 exhibitors to more than 23 acres of stands, gardens, and pavilions.

Thanks to this, The Chelsea Flower Show is a must-visit destination for gardeners from all walks of life. The show serves as a fantastic place for spotting famous faces alongside the world’s rarest and most beautiful plants.

Plus, those visiting early in the week may notice the judging panel inspecting the exhibits. They strictly spend just 45 minutes in each garden, awarding gold, silver-gilt, silver, and bronze medals. These are awarded for more than ten prizes, including Best in Show, Best Construction, and Best Houseplant Studio.

You’ll need to book your Chelsea Flower Show tickets ahead of time, so keep an eye out for their release. Members will benefit from reduced price tickets.
