How to upgrade to First Class on weekdays
Whether you’re planning a First Class trip in advance, or decide you deserve a little luxury on the day, upgrading to First Class couldn’t be easier.
For the easiest way to upgrade, book your ticket online. If you select a First Class Super Off-Peak or First Class Off-Peak ticket, the cost of the upgrade is already included in your ticket price.
If you’ve already booked a Standard ticket but decide you deserve an upgrade on the day (and trust us, you do), ask your Train Manager on board. Pay the difference, and they’ll upgrade you then and there.
Fancy giving the kids a taste of the First Class lifestyle? If you're travelling with Under-16s, First Class upgrades start from as little as £5 each way (on top of the cost of their Standard ticket). Under-5s travel for free. Lucky devils.
Remember, you can get your journey off to the right start in our First Class lounges an hour before your train departs. But be sure to check the opening hours before you do, as times vary.
