Sometimes plans change and the train tickets you've booked need amending to a different date or time. Don't worry - we understand.

Need to change your train ticket?

Whether you’ve decided to adventure for another week, somethings come up and you need to postpone or your plans, or you simply just want to change your journey then the information below should point you in the right direction.

Please note - for tickets bought through another retailer, you’ll need to get in touch with them directly for advice on changing your journey.

New web and app feature!

We've now introduced an easier way to amend your journey - via our: Avanti West Coast appAvanti West Coast website

Dependent on your ticket type, you can now log into your account on your device and amend your tickets.

All ticket amendments should be requested where you originally bought your ticket. For tickets purchased through another retailer, you'll need to get in touch with them directly for advice on changes.

To ensure you can book with confidence, we are allowing customers to exchange Advance tickets for a evoucher (digital rail travel voucher) or amend them fee free until 31 December 2021. This means you can travel on a different service at a different time and on a different date dependent on availability.

Change of journey information

How to change your journey at avantiwestcoast.co.uk

  1. Sign In to your Avanti West Coast account at avantiwestcoast.co.uk
  2. Go to 'My account'
  3. Select the journey you've pre-purchased that you wish to change the date/time of. Click 'Manage my booking'
  4. Click "Change time/date" within the journey's detail page
  5. Select a new date and time for your journey's outward and return trains
  6. Select your preferred new tickets for both outwards and return
  7. Checkout as normal, only paying any outstanding balance if you've selected a more expensive ticket
  8. Your journey's date and time of travel will now be updated

How to change your journey with the Avanti West Coast App

  1. Download the Avanti App
  2. Open the app and make sure you're signed in (top right)
  3. Go to 'My Tickets'
  4. Select the journey you've pre-purchased that you wish to change the date/time of.
  5. Tap "Change date or time of travel" if this is not available your ticket is not valid for change of journey
  6. Select a new date and time for your journey's outward and return trains
  7. Select your preferred new tickets for both outwards and return
  8. Checkout as normal, only paying any outstanding balance if you've selected a more expensive ticket
  9. Once you have confirmed your changes, your journey's date and time of travel will be updated
