It’s easy to buy a Senior Railcard online - just head to our hub or app and enter your details. You’ll need:
Once you’ve downloaded your digital Railcard, you can start booking tickets instantly. Just choose Senior Railcard from the dropdown list when booking tickets online and we’ll apply the discount automatically.
You can also buy a Senior Railcard at any National Rail staffed station ticket office or National Rail-licensed Travel Agent. You can do it on the day you are travelling, just ensure the ticket office is open and make sure to bring proof of ID along with you.
Railcards aren’t refundable. However, if your train is delayed, you can get compensation with Delay Repay if your train is delayed by 15 minutes or more. If you book your train tickets directly through us you’re eligible for Automatic Delay Repay, so you don’t even have to apply for compensation and we’ll process a claim for you automatically within 24 hours of your journey.
It’s just as easy to renew your Railcard as it is to buy. Simply head to the Senior Railcard site and click ‘Renew your Railcard’. Sign in and check all your details are correct, then make your payment and enjoy your savings for another year!
It’s just £35 for a one-year Railcard, and you’ll save ⅓ on your train tickets every time you travel. If you love taking trains, or know you’ll be making a lot of trips in the next few years, it’s worth investing in a three-year Railcard for £80.

Unfortunately, it can’t be used for Season tickets, and it also can’t be used on trains during morning peak times if travelling between two stations inside London and the South East area.
