How to get to Montgomery Waters Meadow Stadium

Getting to Montgomery Waters Meadow couldn’t be easier. Located on the south side of Shrewsbury, the stadium can be easily reached by either car or public transport. For trains to Montgomery Waters Meadow, travel to Shrewsbury station, which is roughly two miles from the stadium. You can either walk from the station, or walk roughly 300 yards to the bus station to take the express bus service or Arriva-operated services to the stadium. There is also parking near the stadium if you’re travelling by car.

Home to Shrewsbury Town, who play in League One (the third tier of English football), Montgomery Waters Meadow is always known as New Meadow. Shrewsbury Town have played in various stadiums over the years since their formation in 1886, before moving to Gay Meadow in 1910. There, they remained until Montgomery Waters Meadow was opened in 2007, just in time for the 2007-2008 football season.

The stadium has a capacity of 9,875 with 550 standing - in 2017, the club became the first club in the English Football League to convert an existing seated section of the stadium into a safe standing area.
