Coventry Station

Home to a remarkable history of transport, Coventry is home to the first British motorcar and the first modern bicycle. It was also where Lady Godiva took her stance on taxes in the 11th Century, by riding naked on a white horse through the streets - walk just 10 minutes from the status and you can see the commemorative statue for yourself.

Just one of 400 listed buildings within the city limits, Coventry station’s modern architecture and concourse earned it Grade ll listed status in 1995. The design of W R Headley, Regional Architect of the London Midland Region of Brisitsh Railways, and project architect Derrick Shorten was built in the 1960s, after the old 1838 station building was demolished.
Located on the edge of the city centre to the south, Coventry station is the nearest train station to Kenilworth Castle, and within walking distance of the city centre.

Served by Avanti West Coast, CrossCountry and West Midlands Trains, Coventry Train station has four platforms. Facilities at the station include a travel centre for information, toilets, baby changing facilities and public WiFi. It has step-free access, accessible ticket machines, and available wheelchairs should you need them. The car park is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and there is covered bicycle storage for cycles. Buses stop nearby.

Coventry station has regular services between London Euston and Birmingham New Street plus services to and from Wolverhampton, Shrewsbury, Preston, Glasgow and Edinburgh Waverley. There are also services to Manchester to the north, and Oxford and Bournemouth to the south. Local services also operate between Coventry-Nuneaton, Northampton and Leamington Spa.
