When you book and pay for train travel via the app, you can rest assured that your payment is secure and protected, no matter how you choose to pay.
We know that each person has a preferred way to pay for things online, so we’ve ensured you can choose from a number of different payment methods when booking your train tickets. If you like to use your phone for everything, you can choose Apple or Google pay as your payment method. You can also pay for travel via PayPal or opt to use your credit or debit card. Frequent travelers can also save their preferred payment method in the app, making the booking and payment process even quicker the next time you book.
A mobile e-ticket is a digital alternative to traditional paper tickets, whereby your train ticket is saved in either the Avanti West Coast app, in your phone’s wallet or sent to you via email. You do not need to print e-tickets and they are ready to use as soon as you book.
Your e-ticket will be accessible via the app or within your Apple or Google wallet if you have saved your ticket there. You can then use your e-ticket by scanning it at the station entry point or onboard when requested by a member of staff.
