Blackpool Air Show is increasingly popular, with around 100,000 people a year attending to enjoy the festivities. With the additional seaside charm that Blackpool has to offer, it’s no surprise that so many people flock to the event.

About the Blackpool Air Show

Blackpool Air Show is a 2-day celebration that takes place annually in the summer months.  Every year, a combination of classic and modern aircraft perform over the Blackpool promenade.

The show is a free event that welcomes all to gather and marvel at the planes above. Although the show is visible far and wide, the best views are from the promenade between the Central Pier and the Northern Victorian Pier.

The show is a long-running tradition in Blackpool. It dates back to 1909 when Blackpool Airport showcased some of the first planes ever built. The show has continued since, with an exception in 2020 due to the pandemic.

Some of the air show displays are even available virtually, with live webcams capturing and streaming the merriment.
