If you plan to drive to the theme park, use the Drayton Manor postcode B78 3SA when setting up your GPS. Doing so will lead you directly to the entrance of the theme park.

How to get to Drayton Manor

You've got a few choices when travelling to Drayton Manor: train, bus, or car. Here's what you need to know about each option.

Travelling to Drayton Manor by train

Getting the train to Drayton Manor is one of the easiest ways to access the theme park. Drayton Manor’s nearest train station is Tamworth, just three miles down the road. 

If you’re wondering how far Drayton Manor is from the station, here’s what you need to know. Walk to Corporation Street and catch the 110 bus to ‘The Square’ island in Fazeley. The park is around a 30-minute walk from here. 

Alternatively, you can hail a taxi at the station or pre-book one before you arrive. 

Tamworth station runs regular services to and from key UK towns and cities. Here are some of the most popular routes in operation and the corresponding journey times: 

London to Tamworth

If you're travelling to Drayton Manor from London, you can catch a direct train to Tamworth from London Euston. The journey can take as little as one hour, with trains running regularly throughout the day.

Birmingham to Tamworth

For those starting their trip in Birmingham, a direct train from Birmingham New Street to Tamworth is a convenient option. The journey only takes around 15 minutes.

Glasgow to Tamworth

The approximate travel time from Glasgow Central to Tamworth is around four hours. Direct trains are available, though they are less frequent. If you're open to changing trains, you'll find more options.

Cardiff to Tamworth

Travelling from the Welsh capital? Direct trains from Cardiff Central to Tamworth are at your service, with an approximate travel time of three and a half hours.

Travelling to Drayton Manor by car

You can also drive to Drayton Manor Theme Park. As mentioned previously, if you’re using a GPS, the best postcode to use is B78 3SA. This will take you straight to the theme park entrance.

Otherwise, directions to Drayton Manor are as follows:

  • Take the M42 to Junction 10 (from the North) or Junction 9 (from the South)

  • Alternatively, take exit T2 off the M6 Toll

  • Follow the A38 or the A446 to the A4091

  • From here, follow the signs to the Drayton Manor site entrance

There’s plenty of car parking at Drayton Manor. Tickets can be booked in advance online or be purchased on the day, which cost £6 or be purchased on the day for £7.

Travelling to Drayton Manor by bus

If you’re coming from elsewhere in the Midlands, getting the bus is also an option. 

The 110 bus runs to Tamworth from Birmingham and Sutton Coldfield. Alight the bus at ‘The Square’ island in Fazeley. The park is a 30-minute walk from here.  

You can also catch the number 115 from Hurley, Dosthill, or Kingsbury and get off at the same stop.

Drayton Manor opening times

Drayton Manor is open from March to November, with different opening times depending on the season. During peak season (July and August), the park is usually open from around 10:30 am to 5:30 pm, yet these times can vary. It’s always worth checking for the day you’re visiting in advance. 

In the off-peak season, the park may close earlier. It's always wise to check the website for the latest information on opening times.

Drayton Manor ticket prices

Booking tickets in advance is a good idea, as you can save up to 33%. Pre-booked tickets start at £29.50, whereas buying at the gate costs £45.

For those looking to visit often, there's the option of Annual Passes, Silver, Gold and Platinum, which start from £79.

Things to do at Drayton Manor

Drayton Manor is known for its thrilling rides and attractions, but there's plenty more on top of that. Here are some of the best things to do at the resort.

Enjoy the rides 

Drayton Manor is home to more than 20 rides and has something suitable for all thrill levels. 

Experience the unique outward-facing gyro swing, Maelstrom, or one of the many Norse-inspired rides, such as Thor, Loki, and Jormungandr. New rides are often added, too, so it’s well worth a visit to see what’s new.

Go to Thomas Land

For the little ones, a visit to Thomas Land is a must. Take a delightful trip on the Sodor Railway with characters like Thomas, Rosie, or Percy, or join Harold on one of his famous helicopter tours. 

With over 25 rides and attractions, Thomas Land offers endless fun for young visitors.

Visit the zoo 

If you're an animal enthusiast, Drayton Manor's zoo is a must-visit attraction. Home to more than 500 animals, including tigers, penguins, reptiles, and endangered species, it’s a great place for little ones to visit. 

You can now buy Zoo Only Tickets on selected dates. These allow visits to the zoo on quieter days starting from just £9 per ticket, with free entry for under two-year-olds.

Catch a show 

There are various shows and events at the park, including fireworks displays, live music, and a daily parade featuring the characters from Thomas Land.
