How to get to Chessington World of Adventures

To make the most of your day out at Chessington World of Adventures, you need to get there as early as possible. Located in the town of Chessington in Surrey, it's possible to get to the resort by train, bus or car.

Trains to Chessington

If you’re getting the train to Chessington World of Adventures, you need to catch a service to

Chessington South train station. From here, you can walk or take a taxi to the resort. London Euston, London Waterloo, Clapham Junction and Wimbledon all have trains running to Chessington South, which is in Travel Zone 6.

If you’re travelling from somewhere outside of London like Birmingham or Liverpool, then catching a service to London Waterloo or London Euston and changing to a local train is recommended.

Driving to Chessington

To get to Chessington World of Adventures by car, you can use postcode KT9 2NE in your sat nav.

Otherwise, directions to Chessington World of Adventures are as follows:

  • From the M25, exit at junction 9 from the south or junction 10 from the north
  • From the A3, take the exit towards Hook
  • After exiting, follow the A243 signposts towards Chessington

Plus, booking your parking space online before your visit will save you £2 compared to buying a ticket at the barrier.

Buses to Chessington

The 71 and 467 bus services travel into Chessington from Kingston and Epsom respectively. This means it's easy to get to the World of Adventures from central London by bus.

How far is Chessington from the train station?

The closest train station to Chessington World of Adventures is Chessington South, which is only a 10-minute walk from the resort. Getting to the park once you get off the train couldn’t be easier. Head right as you leave the station, then turn left at the end of the road and you’ll see the resort in front of you.

Getting to Chessington from London

Getting the train from central London to Chessington is quick and easy. Trains leave London Euston station roughly every 30 minutes, with the journey taking just under an hour.

With trains scheduled from 4:55 am on weekdays and 6:25 am on weekends, you can be at Chessington long before the resort opens.

Plus, as Chessington South train station is within Zone 6, you can use an Oyster card to get there if you have one.

What to do at Chessington World of Adventures

Get to Chessington World of Adventures early to make the most of its thrilling rides and attractions between the opening hours of 10 am and 5 pm. With more than 40 roller coasters, a zoo, and an aquarium, you’re sure to have a fun-packed day at this outdoor theme park.

However old your children are, there are plenty of rides for them to try. Little ones will love the Gruffalo River Ride Adventure and Room on the Broom Magical Journey. For brave adventurers and older children, the Vampire and Kobra roller coasters are two visitor favourites.

You might also want to check out the World of Jumanji ride, the only roller coaster of its kind in the world.

Once you’ve been on all the rides, you can head to the zoo to see more than 1,000 animals or experience the underwater world of the Sea Life Centre. Your ticket grants access to all these attractions.

Plus, there are many on-site restaurants and shops to keep everyone happy and refuelled throughout the day.

For an extra special experience, you can upgrade your tickets to include VIP Animal Experiences or Ultimate Entry packages. They must be booked in advance though. An extra fee will also get you access to a swimming pool, steam room and sauna, or a Go Ape forest adventure high ropes course if you prefer.
