Wigan North Western Train Station in Wallgate, Wigan, serves as a major commuter station for people working in Manchester and its neighbouring towns.

Handling over 1.6 million passengers from 2019 - 2020, Wigan North Western was first opened in 1832, but was repositioned to where it stands today in 1838. Originally, services ran between Wigan, Liverpool and Manchester, and these services still run today.

Benefitting from its location in the centre of this busy town, Wigan North Western is just a short walk from Wigan Wallgate, which offers further connections across the region, as well as numerous convenience stores and other amenities including Cash Converters, Pat and Dad Kitchen and Bar and Pure Nightclub. 

Wigan North Western Long Stay Car Park and Wigan Wallgate Station Car Park are both nearby, offering a great many parking spaces. Annual parking permits are available here for just £1,200 per annum. The A49 is also just round the corner, which offers fast connections to Standish and the M6 motorway.

Hourly services run here from London Euston, and connections run as far north as Glasgow Central. Other popular northern destinations include Lancaster, Preston and Carlisle. Edinburgh and Birmingham can also be easily accessed from Wigan North Western Station.
