Telford Central Station

Located on the outskirts of the town’s main shopping and dining centre, Telford Central Station is connected to the town’s main shopping area by means of a footbridge for pedestrians. The station offers connections to nearby Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton, as well as to Albrighton and Cosford, where there is a military RAF base.

Telford is a relatively new town that originally needed to depend on neighboring stations at Oakengates and Wellington. Telford Central officially opened in 1986, with its large car park benefitting from close proximity to the M54 motorway, which connects Shrewsbury with Birmingham and the M6 motorway.

Telford Central Station is relatively basic in terms of its facilities but it does offer a waiting room, toilets and national key toilets, a coffee kiosk and pay phones.

A Premier Inn hotel is located next door to the station car park, whilst other hotels such as the Park Inn by Radisson, Mercure Telford Centre and Ramada by Wyndham are all also just minutes walk away.

Across the A442 from the train station, Telford’s centre has plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants available, including Cafe Go, Jamaica Blue, McDonald’s and The Thomas Botfield, a JD Wetherspoons public house.
