Watford Junction Station

Watford Junction Railway Station lies to the north of Watford’s main commercial district. That is not to say however that it is not near to plenty of popular amenities. One of three major stations serving Watford (Watford Junction, Watford North and Bushey), Watford Junction Station is located in the town’s region of Knutsford, on the boundary with Cassiobury and West Watford districts.

Near to the station, shops can be found such as Selco Builders Warehouse, Screwfix and Tesco Express. Two Holiday Inn hotels lie nearby along with The Quarters Watford, and nearby eateries include Junction Cafe, Nana’s Lebanese and Lemon Grass Watford.

The first station at this location was built just up the road from the station’s current location, and opened in 1837. This building was replaced in 1858. As of November 2007, oyster cards were able to be used at this station, which is famously referred to as the last station in London’s urbanised area. The term “North of Watford Junction” has even historically been used to refer to towns in the north of England.

Services run directly from here into Lonon Euston, as well as destinations further afield, including Wolverhampton, Shrewsbury, Birmingham New Street, Clapham Junction and Milton Keynes Central.
