Penarth Station

Penarth Station is located in the centre of Penarth, just a few minutes’ walk from Penarth Pier. Short stay parking and disabled car spaces are available directly outside the station and bus connections are readily available just a minute’s walk from the station. There is also cycle storage available as an additional means of transport to and from the station.

Penarth station benefits from a central location which gives it close proximity to bars, restaurants, hotels and cafes including the Railway Hotel, Glendale Hotel and Pizza Pronto.

This well facilitated station features ticket machines that are accessible at all hours, as well as a ticket office that is open from 06:50 - 14:20 Monday to Friday and from 08:30 - 15:00 Saturday. Lost property services are on site, but there is no toilet or wifi access.

Opened in 1878, Penarth Station was then remodelled in 1984 when all its original buildings were knocked down and replaced with the more modern alternatives that still stand today. The original ticket office building has been a fast food restaurant for many years.

The station is easily accessible via the A4160 from Cardiff, as well as via buses from the south Wales region and along nearby cycle routes.
