How to get to Keswick Mountain Festival

The Keswick Mountain Festival’s location is Keswick, in the heart of the Lake District. To get there, visitors have many transport options including by train, local bus services, or by car.

The Keswick Mountain Festival is an outdoor-focused event. With this in mind, it's recommended that visitors consider their carbon footprint when travelling to the site.

One of the best ways to do this is travelling by train. Our Avanti West Coast trains can take you along the West Coast to Penrith or Oxenholme station. Penrith North Lakes is the nearest station, with a distance of 17 miles between the station and the festival. You can get a 40-minute bus service from Penrith station to Keswick Bus station, or book a taxi.

Bus travel is another great option. With Cumbria’s bus fares capped at £2, it’s also very affordable. There are plenty of bus services you can look out for, like the X4, X5, 554, 555, 77, 77A, 73, 73A, 78 and 208.

Those driving to the festival can follow the postcode CA12 5DJ. You’ll need to take Junction 40 at Penrith for the North Lakes. Once arrived, you can park at Keswick Rugby Club or on Lake Road Car Park.
