Planning ahead for your Euro 2020 Journey

The 2020 UEFA European Football Championship (Euro 2020), has been rescheduled to take place between Fri, 11 Jun 2021 – Sun, 11 Jul 2021. This year’s Euros will be different due to COVID-19 restrictions, so make sure you have the information you need to make the best journey choices.

Here is your one stop shop to help you plan ahead and travel safely.

Our top tips

  • Only travel if you have a reservation - On 13 and 18 June 2021 trains to London will be very busy due to fans travelling to Wembley with most trains on and around these dates now fully booked.
  • Allow plenty of time for your journey - Make sure you have the information you need to make the best journey choices. Check before you travel and leave extra time to arrive for your booked train. If you miss your booked train, there is no guarantee you will be able to travel on an alternative train.
  • Make a reservation - With reduced seating capacity onboard and our trains expected to be busier on and around match days, you must make a reservation to be guaranteed to board your preferred train.
  • Follow our safe travels advice - Help keep our trains safe: check before you travel, wash your hands regularly, wear a face covering (unless exempt), keep your distance where possible, and travel at quieter times. You can find out more on our COVID-19 travel information page.
  • Social distancing may not always be possible - High demand on and around match days may mean that social distancing capacity onboard our trains is affected. Please plan ahead and consider alternative options.
  • Check before you travel - For the latest information about your journey check the Avanti West Coast and National Rail Enquiries websites.
  • Travel safely – We’re working with the British Transport Police to keep our customers and staff safe and secure on our trains and at stations. You can report incidents to the British Transport Police by texting 61016.
