Food Suppliers

Altham's Fine Foods

Altham’s Fine Foods was formed from a long-established farming and butchery family that was started in the 1800’s by Thomas Altham. This family run business has been operating since 2015 from its new purpose-built base in Morecambe. It’s their background in good honest food and a love of creating delicious meals that makes Altham’s what it is today.

Altham’s provide us with outdoor reared pork sausages for the Great British Breakfast, some of our hot meals from the rest of the day menu and the popular Breakfast Hash.

Beaumont Patisserie

Based in the heart of Birmingham, Beaumont Patisserie use only the finest ingredients to create their delightful products.  They even have their own bakery shop in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Beaumont Patisserie make our delicious raspberry tarts.

The Estate Dairy

The Estate Dairy are a family business, owned by joint directors and husband and wife team Shaun and Rebecca Young. Shaun worked in the coffee industry for 5 years prior to founding The Estate Dairy in 2016. For Rebecca, it’s a little closer to home as her family were dairy farmers throughout her childhood. Joining Shaun and Rebecca is Andrew, Rebecca’s brother, who heads up The Estate Dairy Cultured Butter productions and brings 8 years of experience working in butter production.

Although based in Somerset, their cultured butter is churned on The Cholmondeley Estate in the heart of the Cheshire Countryside. Produced with rich double cream it’s truly one of the richest tasting butters on the market. The four-day culturing and ageing process results in a beautifully unique product that is then ready to be churned, salted, flavoured and shaped.

Little Town Dairy

The family moved to the farm in Longton, Lancashire in the 1960s with 7 cows and 4 children. From building up a local milk round over the next decade, by the 1980s they started producing yoghurt and when these became more popular, a new dairy was built and with it the product range diversified to include soured cream and crème fraiche. The dairy has recently been modernised and is now run by three generations of the Forshaw family and Matt & Eileen’s ‘herd’ now has expanded to 200 milking Holsteins and 12 grandchildren!

Try their rich Greek style yogurt served with a fruit compote and luxury granola on our breakfast menu.

Mrs Kirkham’s Lancashire Cheese

Mrs Kirkham’s is nestled just on the outskirts of Goosnargh Village looking out over Beacon Fell. The Kirkham family has resided at Beesley Farm for just over 70 years. Graham's father John moved here with his family as a baby. The first cheese was made here by Ruth (Mrs Kirkham) in September 1978 and is still being made right here on the farm today. The business is now run by Ruth and John's son Graham with the help of his partner Kellie, sons Shaun and Mike and a handful of great staff.

Our award-winning raw cow's milk cheese is still made by hand to the same recipe used by Graham’s mother and grandmother and is made 7 days a week using only the milk from our own herd of Holstein Friesian cows.

Their tangy traditional Lancashire cheese is served on our charcuterie grazing platter.

The Pudding Compartment

Not far from our tracks in North Wales, Steve and the team at The Pudding Compartment are busy creating a range of cakes sold in our on board shop as well as cakes and cookies serviced in our First Class lounges. They support many other businesses in the area by buying lots of their ingredients locally.

Soffle's Pitta Chips

Sophie (Soffle) remembered hearing from a friend about oven roasting pitta so whilst in the local grocery shops of Stoke Newington, Hackney, she purchased the pitta, the chillies and the garlic and made her first batch of extremely wild pitta chips.

Try a pack of pitta chips in one of our First Class Lounges.

Drink Suppliers

Brew Tea Co.

Founded by husband-and-wife team Phil and Aideen Kirby, they create all our lovely teas in their Tea HQ over in Manchester. Next time you grab a cuppa with us, ask one of our team to try something from the range.

Camden Town Brewery

When Camden Ale were new to the market, knowing they were so local to Avanti’s Euston hub, we thought it would be a great local SME for us to engage with.

Jasper Cuppaidge missed his flight back to Australia and ended up collecting beer glasses in London when he spotted a ‘for sale’ sign up on an old pub and ended up buying the premises in 2006 and serving good food, beer and wine to the people of Hampstead. Jasper went on to rent five disused but recently reconditioned railway arches by Kentish Town West station. In 2010, the team expanded from one to three and the first batch their lager was brewed as a cross between a ‘Helles’ and a ‘Pilsner’ so the name ‘Hells’ Lager was born!

Change Please

Change Please are an award-winning social enterprise founded in 2015. They train people affected by homelessness as baristas and support them with accommodation, mental wellbeing and onward employment. We serve their coffee onboard and every cup you enjoy will change lives.  Between December 2019 and July 2023 the partnership between Avanti West Coast and Change Please has helped the lives of 100 people experiencing homelessness.

Forest Distillery

Located at the 210-year-old Cat & Fiddle above Macclesfield Forest, the Bond family and their small team at Forest Distillery are officially the UK’s highest altitude distillery. They lovingly distil small batches of spirits from wild foraged, locally sourced and organic ingredients combined with our pure, natural spring water.

After beginning distilling from home back in 2014, they now produce small batch spirits of the very highest quality including our very own Forest to First Gin.

Lakes Distillery

The Lake District has long been a crucible for creativity, a place where imagination can flourish, and it's no different for Lakes Distillery. The Lakes Distillery's whisky maker takes inspiration from the UNESCO World Heritage site where the distillery has been built within a 160-year-old farmstead on the banks of the River Derwent.

Ultra-smooth English vodka retains the distinctive characteristics of the finest British wheat for a sweeter, more rounded flavour. Distilled just once in a bespoke copper pot still using only the purest water from our Lake District National Park home.

The Pickle House

The Pickle House sprang into action over in Hackney back in 2014. Having first tried pickle juice across the pond in New York, founder Florence Cherruault wanted to create a recipe that was specifically made for cocktails and smoothies. After many months crafting the perfect pickle juice, they launched their first product: The Pickle House Original Pickle Juice. Since then, they’ve created award-winning pickle mixes which can be used in alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails.

Try their Spiced Tomato Mix which you can find onboard and in our lounges.

Red Willow Brewery

Founded in 2010, the love and respect for the great British cask pint started the brewery and honed its reputation. That devotion remains just as strong today and complemented by an array of more hop-forward styles completes their love of ale.

Ret a can of our very own specially brewed Tilting Ale from the on board shop.

Wenlock Spring

Our still and sparkling water is bottled at source in a small village at the foot of Wenlock Edge, Shropshire. We’re helping to reduce plastic waste by serving sparkling water from larger glass bottles rather than individual one-use plastic.

Worker Bee MCR

Worker Bee MCR is an independent Manchester-based tea and coffee company delivering specially selected tea, coffee and hot chocolate. They have created our very own unique hot chocolate which we serve onboard.

Guest Beers & Lagers

To highlight and promote the array of independent local breweries along our route, we always have a guest ale on our First Class Drinks Menu. Guest beers and Lagers featured since December 2022 are from The Glasgow Beer Works, The Birmingham Brewing Company, Two Tribes Brewery in London and the Titanic Brewery in Stoke on Trent. There are many more just waiting to be discovered.
